Roper Mountain Astronomers

Samuel Horton, Jr.

I've always had a curiosity about "what's up there" but didn't know how to see it.

Now, I've been an amateur astronomer for 9 years and been a member of Roper Mountain Astronomers for almost two years. I am currently using a 16" Meade Lightbridge telescope which I dubbed "Chewbacca" for the noise it makes while I'm setting up. Mostly been into planetary objects and lunar observing with a hunger and desire for the deep sky targets. Now with a newly purchased Celestron CGX11 EdgeHD I might be a little closer to my goal!

This is new to me. Trying to get my 146mm back focus setup. It doesn't work well with the full size 174 mm but, i read that the "mini" works a lot better and is easier to focus. Its on order.
