We will be at the Roper Mountain Science Center for this meeting. This meeting will also include board elections and review of our budget TOPIC: Setting Up a Telescope in a Remote Observatory
Last January, David decided to move his best telescope to Starfront Observatories in Rockwood, Texas. With the promise of Bortle 2 clear skies 200+ nights per year, imagine the images one could capture: Dark nebulae, many more hours per target with consecutive night imaging.
David will walk us through his journey to set up and configure his telescope to be completely remote controlled as well as the trip to Texas to drop the telescope off at Starfront Observatories. He will cover the equipment he selected as well as the automation software and processes he uses to be certain he can capture the best quality images possible in the remote environment.
