Title: Alan Sturgis-NASA Engineer


Abstract: 

Alan presents information on various space related topics including: the story behind the image "Earthrise", last years' launch of astronauts to the space station via SpaceX (first time since 2011 on the Space Shuttle), and  questions to engage the audience on what we can all do to help promote sustainability here on Earth.

Speaker:  Alan Sturgis


Alan is an aerospace engineer who currently works at Langley Research Center and has worked at Marshall Space Flight Center (Huntsville, AL) and Wallops Flight Facility (Wallops Island, VA). He was always exploring as a child and now enjoys exploring beyond his backyard. He can often can be found stargazing as an amateur astronomer and right now enjoys traveling the world virtually. His goals are to explore, inspire, sustain and promote peace.
