The University of South Carolina invites you to join us for a free public lecture, live-streaming as a fully remote online event.
GALILEO and the Science Deniers
Thursday, October 1, 2020
7:00 pm
Dr. Mario Livio presents a fresh biography of Galileo Galilei which puts his scientific discoveries in context. Disturbed by rampant science denial in America—and around the world—that has only intensified in recent years, Livio began researching the life, ideas, and actions of this brilliant man who encountered similar pressures centuries ago. The result is a biography filled with lessons relevant for today—whether with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic or climate change. Dr. Livio will discuss a few of these topics in this free public lecture, delivered remotely as a live-streaming event for the UofSC campus and surrounding community.
Register here.
Registered participants will receive an email prior to the event with information on how to connect to the live-streamed event.
